NEED TO GET THE ORIGINAL PENSION FILE
After locating an ancestor in the Civil War Pension Index, researchers are urged
to request a copy of the casefile referred to by the index. According to the National
Archives, "...the number and type of documents in the Civil War and later series
vary greatly from file to file; they are often numerous. The documents of greatest
genealogical interest include the declaration of the veteran, the declaration of the
widow, the statement of service from the War or Navy Department, the personal
history questionnaire, and documents relating to the termination of pensions."
Photocopies of case file contents can be requested by submitting NATF Form 85 to
the National Archives and Records Administration, Attn: NWCTB, 700 Pennsylvania
Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20408-0001. You can request NATF Form 85 by
submitting your name and postal address, the form number (NATF Form 85), and the
number of forms you require (limit 6 per request) to inquire@@nara.gov. Pension case
files can now be ordered online as well. Visit the National Archives website at
 http://www.archives.gov/research/military/civil-war/civil-war-genealogy-resources/index.html
 for details.
SAD - per their website it now costs $80 to get this file!

 1870 Census: ??
This is the year that Sanford's son George is born on

Date is June 1870. Despite diligent searching under every

house anywhere near to DC or NYC nor her son George or either
of her two daughters. I feel quite sure she remained in DC as the

*My guess is that this is MISTRANSCRIBED and that it actually says Sanford and although I purchased the record I of course only got to see the transcription not the actual document.
Sanford "Sandy" Patrick ENGLAND, Jr. email dated 27 Nov 2011 indicates that his family's research indicates that Sanford Patrick England was a Junior the 2nd of that name and that he had a brother named John also born Limerick who immigrated w/ him to America and that this John England later migrated from NY to Arkansas.
Based on that the John born 1833 KILCORNAN & STONEHALL (RC) could be his brother, but this birth did not occur in the CITY of Limerick as did Sanford's. The child with the name not recorded born 1830 in this same parish with father named JOHN could also be a candidate.
However the John born 1823 in the city parish of St. Michael's RC also has a father named John so that could work too and is far more likely since its SAME parish as Sanford.

 IRISH AMERICAN OBITUARY.
  DIED,
On the 26th of April, at his residence 631 A Street, south Washington,
D.C., S. P. England, formerly of the city of Limerick, Ireland
NOTES: This is a DIFFERENT funeral notice. It gives his address and uses his
initials only and also indicates that he is from the CITY of Limerick. This
address is terribly close to the address given on further census recs and
directories as 637 A St southeast, makes me wonder if they were already at
that address when he died and if the paper just made a typo mistaking
 a 1 for a 7?

  Good Morning Ms. Rhodes
We have researched your genealogy request for Sanford Patrick England and the results are as follows:
His wife was interred here at Mount Olivet on January 21, 1924 and is located as you said in Section 14 Lot 244; She was buried with Adelaide Johnston
We have no record of Sanford being interred here at Mount Olivet unfortunately.
Sorry we could not be of more assistance
Please have a good weekend and if I can assist again please email me again
 Sincerely,
 Jef McConnell
 Manager
 Mount Olivet Cemetery
Notes: Adelaide Johnston is their daughter
