a. Note:   , 2011, in Coulterville Care Center. He was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Ava, the son of John Thompson and Emily (Feldman) Thompson. Alfred married Mary L. Castens April 21, 1945, in Chester. Mary passed away Feb. 1, 2009. He was a farmer. Alfred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Point; Immanuel Lutheran Layman League and Shiloh Hill Mens Club. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon and Canyon Roberts of Ava; six grandchildren, Sherry Roberts (Paul Ridgeway), David Roberts (Jackie Powers), Jason Thompson (Rebecca), Dawn Reese (Jeff Giacomo), Tabitha Creamer (Tommie Gray), Randy Creamer (Katie Pflasterer); and 10 great-grandchildren, Caitlin Roberts, Jared Powers, Alaina Ridgeway, Parker Ridgeway, Tehya Thompson, Richard Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Mia Thompson, Brooke Creamer, Morgan Giacomo (Blake Rees). Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Point with the Rev. Tim B. Zechiel officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, from 7:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
