a. Note:   "William Ramsay Scott" Name given by Amy Lloyd. Also SOURCE An Anecdotal History of Old Times in Singapore. p 234, 311, 373, 567, 732. In 1858 William Ramsay Scott was a clerk in the firm of WilliamMacdonald & Co. and was partner in 1864. 1866 "There was at this timea fresh water swimming bath which Mr. W.R. Scott allowed the use of tocertain subscribers, at Abbotsford; it was the only one in the place,but it was very little used." His death was registered in the June quarter of 1908 in the Hampstead registration district. In the 1891 Census he was an East India Merchant, living in London in the Parish of ST. John Hampstead. 57 Belsize Park Gardens. They had 4 servants. One son, William, was the only one not living at home. In the 1881 Census they were living at 51 Belsize Gardens. In 1874 he was appointed by the Queen to the Legislative Council of the Straits Settlements.In the 1911 Census, he was described as an East India Merchant.
