OCCUPATION: Merchant, mariner, diplomat, various govt posts ========= Capt. James Neale (originally O'Neale) was a purser for King Charles I. King Charles I was married to Queen Henrietta Maria (formerly of Spain). Capt. Neale married Ann Gill, who was a maid in the Queen's court. When Charles was beheaded, Henrietta Maria went back to Spain. When James & Ann had a daughter, they named her "Henrietta Maria" and the Queen was her godmother. James & Ann came to Maryland and settled, had other children. Their daughter, Henrietta Maria married a Lloyd. Every generation through today, has had a "Henrietta Maria".
