Note: Mr. Lowndes died in Charleston, March, 1736. According to the article in the South Carolina Biographical Directory, he separated from his wife soon after arriving in South Carolina and refused to support her, whereupon he was imprisoned in Charleston and shortly thereafter committed suicide.
