a. Note:   Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He served from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1958, which included a tour of duty in Germany. He attended Sam Houston State University where he received his BBA in 1961. He was in the educational supply business and enjoyed working in sales until his retirement in 2001. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and his love of telling humorous stories. He was widely respected and loved by those who knew him.
