Note: Fought in World War I Former Local Man Dies in Birmingham John R. Hunter, 43, former resi- dent of Decatur died at 5 p.m. Thursday at a Birmingham hospital where he underwent an operation last week. The body will arrive in Decatur Saturday morning and funeral services will be held at Brown's Chapel, on Ferry Street at 11 a.m. The Rev. Grover Walker and the Rev. R. L. Archibald will conduct rites and Brown will be in charge of burial at City cemetery. Mr. Hunter is survived by his widow; a son; his mother, Mrs. Mildred Hunter; two sisters, Miss Martha Hunter, Decatur; Mrs. Mildred Wales and a brother, Forest Hunter. ~ DECATUR DAILY Friday, February 10, 1939
