DeKalb Co, Georgia signed 29 Nov 1854 filed 2 Jul 1855 Last Will and Testament of Merrill Collier. 1st to my daughter Martha W Loky $100 2nd to my grandsons William E and John sons of my son Henry G deceased $500 to be put out on interest until they come of age 3rd to my daughter Malinda P, a woman named Lavina and her two children Simon and Cornelius, also a boy named Gifford and my house and lot in Atlanta Lot 4 Block 5 on Hunter(?) street with my gold watch 4th to my daughter Sharlotte Hulsey a man named Elisha 5th to my daughter Jane B Lofton a boy named Pleasant 6th to my daughter Margaret E Brantly a boy named Bill 7th to my daughter Nancy W Cook a girl named Caroline 8th to my beloved wife Elizabeth a woman named Elmyra and her four children a boy named Newman, two girls named Rose and Emily and a boy named Tom and a man named Andy and the plantation will all the stock I desire my storehouses in Atlanta be sold and the lot in Irwin county. 9th I appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth my executrix and William Ezzard my executor. After coming from N.C.,Merrell married and settled on South River. His first wife's name is unkown but they had 2 children as far as' we can determine. Thomas Collier Born 1798 Died before 1896. Martha Washington Collier Born 1806. There seems to be some discrepancies as to birthdates of Thomas and Martha and to marriage of Merrell and 1st wife and moving to Ga. but it follows the rest of the history of Merrell.
