Note: Chloe Jennie BALLARD was born in 1853 in Milton, Vermont. Jennie was raised and schooled in Milton,Vermont. She married Richard MILES in Milton,VT. Richard had been residing in the Town of Underhill, VT and had originally migrated from Ireland with his parents. Jennie and Richard had a son, Edgar Ballard MILES, born 1872 in Underhill Center, VT. The young family ventured to Pentwater,Michigan [circa 1873]. It is assumed that Richard MILES died within a year after they arrived there. Through Sarah CUNNINGHAM, a friend and neighbor, Jennie met James C.Wright. James was an engineer, and was residing in Bay City, MI. Jennie and James C. WRIGHT were married in 1876 in Hart, Michigan. The Wrights made their home in Pentwater, MI and are listed in 1880 census. Jennie gave birth to two children, Euphemia born 1876 and Willis born 1877. [born in Weare, Oceana Co., MI] After the children were grown and had left home in the 1890's, Jennie and James bought a ranch in Cody, Wyoming. They were neighbors of "Buffalo Bill" CODY In 1902, after visiting her brother Marvin BALLARD in Los Angeles, CA, Jennie's return trip home had a planned stop in Ashland, WI to visit her daughter Euphemia and her family. While the train was en route travelling through Nebraska, Jennie suffered a heart attack and died.
