a. Note:   Mary Estelle [Mae] Munday amrried Sam Cook. They first lived in New York City and in the mid 1920's they moved to 389 Palisade Avenue in Bogota, NJ, with their son Harold and daughter Florence. In the mid 1930s, when Grandma Munday was living with Bud Munday, visit's with the Munday's and Cook's would alternate every week. Mae kept the overall Munday family together as a close knit family. Her husband, Sam, worked in New York City as an accountant. He was known for buying novelty items that were hawked by street vendors in the city. It was always fun visiting him to find out what kind of a new gadget he had bought. Sam was an avid Pro Football fan and would enjoy listening to the games broadcast on radio. The Washington Redskins with "Slingin' Sammy Baugh were his favorites. After their son, Harold, got married to Peggy Griffin they lived for a short time at the residence with Mae and Sam before moving to Hoboken. When Forence married Lou Spitzer, the upstairs [2nd floor was converted into a an apartment, where Florence and Lou would reside]. Mae and Sam bought a home in Oakland, NJ in the late 1940s. Florence and Lou continued to live at the Bogota residence and when their daughter Carolyn married, she and her husband Gerry Rogers moved into the upstairs apartment. Mae was a very excitable person. She was petrified of the summer electrical storms and was known to hide in the close closet during the storms. Although excitable, she still was the level headed one in the family. Her guidance was helpful to all during times of family crisis.
