She was born on October 4, 1904 in Ashland, WI. She was six years old when the Fisher family moved to Nymore, MN. She attended the Nymore Public School. She was about eleven years of age when the family moved to Rose Lake, Idaho. Ruth was a big help to her step mother Helen. She helped her with the little kids. She left home when fifteen and lived with her sister Edna in Seattle. In 1923 she along with her sister Edna migrated to the Los Angeles area so they could be near their sisters Grace and Izetta. Ruth got a job with Thrifty Drugs a large chain in the California area. In 1935 she married George Walsh. The Walsh's had two children, George, Jr., born in 1941 and Patricia born in 1945. They resided in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles. Ruth's husband George died in 1952 leaving Ruth to raise two young children. Ruth retired from Thrifty Drugs in the late 1960s. Ruth was very personable. She liked to have a good time and was always one to keep busy. After her retirement she moved to Reno and lived with her daughter Patti and her family. Ruth died in March 1981 in Modesto, CA. Aunt Ruth along with her sister Edna, came to Teaneck, NJ to help my mom during my birth in 1929. In 1945 I got a chance to visit with the Walsh family during my visit to California. I remember one day going swiming at the local Silver Lake pool and I was dumfounded when I discovered the life guard was Ed Delbridge who was from my hometown of Teaneck, NJ. A small world. I also had the privilege of baby siting my three year old cousin, George, Jr. while the Walsh's went out to diner. In 1947 I had diner in Wilmington, CA with Aunt Ruth and Aunts: Izetta and Edna. During the 1960s I had numerous occasions to visit Aunt Ruth during some of my business trips to the west coast CENSUS-1904-born Ashland,WI 1940-Los Angeles,CA 1910-Nymore,MN * 1950-Los Angeles,CA 1920-Rose Lake,ID 1960-Los Angeles,CA 1930-Los Angeles,CA 1970-Reno,NV Buried: Ashes are interned at Calvery Cemetery, South Los Angeles, CA
