Note: Agnes Memmer, 89, of Randolph, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at home. Born May 28, 1914, in Randolph, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Lena (Weigand) Schaefer. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph. Survivors include her sons, Lawrence Jr. of Niles, Walter of Ravenna, Howard (Julie) of Kent, Dan (Judy) of Randolph, David of Ravenna; daughters, Dorothy (Bill) Rankin of Kent, Mary (Pete) Hershberger of Kent, Delores Baer of Rootstown, Rosemary (Gene) Bixler of Ravenna, Diane (Gary) Jones of Ravenna, Sue (Ed) Spell of Kittanning, Pa.; sister, Celia Boyle of Akron; brothers, George and Paul Schaefer of Randolph. She also has 29 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sr.; a son, Charles; brothers, Leon, Carl, Ralph, Harold, and John Schaefer; sisters, Hilda Peterson and Mary Crock. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, at the Wood-Kort right Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph, with the Reverend Father Edward Wieczorek officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Portage County Visiting Nurse and Hospice, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph.
