a. Note:   Conrad learned cabinet making and undertaking from Julius Hug in Navarre, Ohio Conrad came to Barberton, Ohio with his knowledge of the trade and a small loan. With help from his Uncle and Aunt, purchased a second-hand hearse and a funeral carriage to start his career. He opened a funeral parlor and furniture dealership. In 1900, Pete and Fran, Conrad's brothers came to work for him. In 1907, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Anna followed. Conrad went into the automobile business in 1915 with the Buick Agency; named B & W. Garage. Buick and Weigand, two great names, together since 1915 was their slogan.
