Note: Adam J. Weigand began his trucking operations in Dover with a small dump truck to haul merial and coal in and around Tuscarawas County in 1933. By 1945 the company had grown and was incorporated under state laws and obtained Interstate Commerce Commission and Public Utilities Commission on Ohio authority for hauling building material, liquid chemicals and general freight. For 20 years A.J. Weigand was a major force in the transportation in Ohio of steel, pachage freight and bulk liquids. A.J. died in the early 1960's and his son Maurice sold the company in 1965 to an investment group.
