Note:   info downloaded from ancesty.com December 2000 leonsigns@@tyler.net Johnothan (John ) Starnes is listed in the book "Yalobusha Bound" by Chris Morgan as living in Yalobusha County Mississippi in 1850 as is Absolom. It is not proven but is accepted by this author that both he and Absolom are sons of G. B. Starnes by an earlier first marriage and are sons by the same Mother as James Martin Starnes. Elizabeth Prior is not their Mother nor is she the Mother of the first four children listed. Johnothan is show as Jno. Starnes 26, South Carolina living with the family of Arthur Hudson born South Carolina. He was living with his wife's parents at this time. He must have just moved to Mississippi as did the rest of the family because he is also shown living Hall County, Georgia in the 1850 Census. Per personal correspondence with his g-g-g-granddaughter Mary White of Mississippi April 1999 John A. last appeared on the 1860 Census of Monroe County, Arkansas. Died of wounds received in the Civil War at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
