a. Note:   from Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi Monday, August 4, 2003 Heney Mann Bruce - William Henry Mann, 79, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at his residence. He was born November 19, 1923, Banner to Richard D. and Annie Belle Hardin Mann. He was retired after 35 years as a forklift operator for E. L. Bruce Company. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of VFW Post 5571 and the American Legion. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with the Rev. W.R. Harrelson and the Rev. Junior Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Jean Stewart, Betty Ann Metzger and her husband, Dennis, and Connie Gayle Braddock and her husband, Chris all of Bruce; five sons, William Boyd Mann of Memphis, TN, Richard Lee Mann, Loyd Aron Mann and his wife, Lesia, Kenneth Dale Mann and Paul Wayne Mann, all of Bruce and Ruble Mann of Calhoun City; 10 grandchildren, Annie Frances Russell, Jennie R. Mann, Nickie Mann, Jason L. Mann, Bobby R. Mann, Jesiah Mann, Krista D. Metzger, Brandon K. Metzger, Chase Braddock and Michael Braddock; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Bramlitt Mann and four brothers, Richard I. Mann, Roy T. Mann, Bob Mann and Buford Mann. Pallbearers will be Billy Mann, Bobby Mann, Alan Mann, Rodney Mann, Randy Mann, and Harold Mann. Visitation will begin at 3 P.M. today at the funeral home. info received from Shirley Jean Mann Stewart June 11, 2004 His tour of duty was aboard the USS Manning, Destroyer escort 199 Seaman Second Class William Henry Mann was assigned to the deck force, his general quarters station was a 350 cal. gun. He also was a gunner on a 4 barrel pm-pom. He served in the U.S. Navy. He entered the service in may 1943 and served until 1945.
