Clabaugh, 14 years of age, born Texas, household of Cumb Clabaugh Obituary from The Hillsboro (TX) Evening Mirror, Monday, August 17, 1931 J.F. Wright, aged 75 years, 7 months, and 17 days, died at 4:35 o'clock Monday morning, August 17, 1931, at the home of a friend, five miles south of Hillsboro on the Kirby Road. Funeral services will be held at the Marshall & Marshall funeral chapel at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. E.W. Bridges officiating. Interment will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Mr Wright was born at Cherokee, Texas Dec. 31, 1855. He came to Hillsboro in 1903, and had resided here since. With the exception of two years, he had served as justice of the peace or county surveyor since his coming to Hillsboro, and held the office of county surveyor at the time of his death. In early manhood, he united with the Methodist church and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Hillsboro at the time of his death. Deceased is survived by eight children they being Mrs. W.E. Rahl of Goldthwaite; Mrs. Nell Morris and Mrs W.E. McLellan of Dallas; Mrs. Fannie Culberson of Tulsa, Okla.; A.H. Wright of Hamilton, Canada; J.A. Wright of St. Joseph, Mo.; J.F. Wright, Jr. of Amarillo, and Hal Wright of Abilene. Three brothers, J.A. Wright of Fort Worth; E.C. Clabaugh of Kerrville; and W.H. Faulkner, residing in Old Mexico; and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Rahl of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. C.H. McKeehan of Hico, also survive. Judge Wright, as he was familiarly known, had many friends in Hillsboro and Hill County, who will be grieved upon learning of his death. He was well known by reason of his official service in Hillsboro and throughout the county. Before coming to this city, he was a resident of Bosque County, where he was engaged in the newspaper business.
