a. Note:   alnut trees where there was a cool, clear spring of water . While building the house they were chased to the roof by a pack of wolves. Henry homesteaded 160 acres of land and the place became known as "Bickle's Cove". As there was no sawmill nearby, Henry hauled logs 75 miles with oxen to have planks sawed for an addition to his house.
