Note: Lula died in childbirth with her first child from 2nd husband Luther Bailey. " My great grandmother Lula is buried at Crossroads next to her husband with him on one side and the stillborn baby boy on the other side. Mr. Bailey's first wife is buried on his other side. She was married twice and Mr. Bailey was the 2nd husband. Dolphus, her first husband, was cutting wood with his father and either a tree or a big limb hit him in the head and he got an excruciating headache from the injury and couldn't stand the pain and killed himself. At least that is what is told in our family. I met a Huggins from Shirley once and he said that my great grandmother Lula's family thought she had married below her station in life and never really accepted Dolph. So much for old tales!
