a. Note:   h 12, 1864, got exchanged to the 5th to be with (his brother) William. Jonathon had been wounded at Sharpsburg (Antietam) not Malvern Hill, as Grandmama had written down (I have his medical records). The 13th fought thru all the major battles in the Army of Northern Virginia...Manassas, Sharpsburg, Gettysburg, Fredricksburg, and many more. After he transferred to the 5th, he fought in all the battles around Atlanta, then marched under Gen'l Hood into Tennessee, where he lost his leg the evening of November 29, 1864." - descendant J.
