Seagraves does not appear on the Index to Arkansas Confederates. However, he applied for and received a Confederate Pension. In his 1899 application, W.L. states that he is 62 years old and has lived in Parker Co., TX for 8 months, that he suffers poor health due to catarrh, rheumatism, and "la grippe", and that he owns no property except two pony horses and an old wagon. J.R. Maxwell & B.F. Quertermous made written depositions for Segraves' application. Maxwell stated he and Segraves enlisted in DeWitt, AR in Capt. Morris' company & Deshas' battalion, of Confederate Volunteers Infantry I. Maxwell was a 2nd Lieut. in the company. Maxwell stated the last time he saw W.L. Segraves was in March 1862 at Tuscumbia, AL on the way to Corrinth, MS. Quertermous stated they served in Company I of the 7th ARK. Battalion of Confederate Infantry, commanded by Col Frank Desha.
