SPOUSE-CHILDREN: Interviews with Francis G. & Frances E. (Foster) Appleton; 1917-1995; conducted by Tad D. Campbell, 1989-1995, at San Jose CA; notes in poss of Tad D. Campbell, Gilroy CA; NOTE: Frank Paquette and his wife Zoe had 13 children, only 3 of whom lived to maturity; being Delia, Willie and Isabelle. Zoe became senile in her old age and reverted to speaking mostly French. Frances (Foster) Appleton had a girlfriend in Perry MI who often took care of her. There was an outhouse that was at the bottom of a small slope at the rear of the house. Beyond the outhouse the ground would slope up again to a neighbor's house which faced onto the street behind. Zoe would walk down to the outhouse and when she came out, she would sometimes go up the wrong slope and become lost. The friend would have to go out searching for her. Francis Appleton recalls that the Chamberland family was related to Zoe. He remembers traveling to Arcadia MI to visit Chamberland relatives, particularly two elderly Chamberland women who lived by themselves in a little house in the woods.
BIRTH-CONFLICT: There is a discrepancy in Zo's birthdate. Her death certificate, obituary and headstone give 28 Jul 1852 as the date. Census records seem to agree with the baptismal record which gives 30 Jul 1853. [Researched by Tad D. Campbell, Gilroy CA].
