MISCELLANEOUS: Interview with Frances E. (Foster) Appleton; 1923-1993; conducted by Tad D. Campbell, 26 Sep 1993, at San Jose CA; ; notes in poss of Tad D. Campbell, Gilroy CA; NOTE: Addie Angus became ill with "consumption" when a young lady and was sent from Shiawassee County to Vanderbuilt, Otsego Co MI. The colder and dryer air up north was believed to be better for many conditions at that time. It was in Vanderbuilt that she met Frank E. Foster who would become her husband. She was stubborn and could be mean. One time her husband Frank had a mustache that she didn't like. She asked him to shave it off but he refused, so while he was sleeping she shaved just half of the mustache off so that he had to shave the rest on his own.
