WILL OF GEORGE LEACHMAN Record Book B. Pg 76, Putnam Co. Ind. Courthouse In the name of God Amen, I George Leachman being, weak in body but of strong mind do make and ordain this my last will and testament revoking all others as to wit. Item l. I have given my son William Leachman one hundred and eight dollars, also my son Willoughby Leachman ninety eight dollars, also the legal heirs of John Leachman one hundred and thirty seven dollars, also my son Benjamin Leachman Seventy six dollars, also my son-in-law that married Sarah, Sixty two dollars. Also, my son-in-law Samuel Darush that married Mary, one hundred and fourteen dollars. Also my son-in-law Fenton that married Nancy seventy dollars, all of which sums is to be deducted out of an equal division of the remainder of my estate both real and personal. Item 2. I give and bequeath my wife Mary Leachman one hundred dollars and the one third part of my estate both real and personal. I also will that my personal property be sold at a fair price on twelve months credit and my real or land estate be sold at public sale to the highest bidder at the following payments that is to say three annual payments or at the decision of my executor. Item 4. I also will that the first mentioned sum that I willed my sons and son-in-laws be deducted out of their part of the proceeds of my estate both real and personal and also that my son Thomas and also my son Samuel have each of them a full share of all my estate both real and personal after giving to each of the above named children parts already received so as to make them all equal after my beloved wife Mary has taken her part as heretofor designated. Item 5. I also will that my son Thomas Leachman part of my estate which I give and bequeath to him be put in the hand of my son Willoughby Leachman for to be furnished out as a sufficient support as my son Willoughby thinks necessary and proper. I also will that the legal heirs of my son, John Leachman, have one share divided between them at the age of eighteen years old and to be kept on interest by my executors at that time and then paid over to them should they be living or any one of them so as to be equally divided between them and if either should die before they arrive at the age of eighteen the surviving one shall draw all and if both should die before they arrive at the age of eighteen then the part given them I will an equal division of that part of my estate equally divided between my other heirs named above in item 2. And last I also will that my beloved wife Mary Leachman and my son Willoughby Leachman act as my executors. I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 12th day of July 1837. One third of of the purchase money to be paid in six months, and one third in one year from the first payment, and the residue in one year there-after. Gold security will be required for the purchase money and a deed will be made for the said tracts of land on the receipt of the last payment. And also on the same day and at the same place, I will offer for sale, on a credit of one year, all the personal estate of the said decedent, consisting in part of hogs, cattle, sheep, wheat in the stack, corn in the field, household and kitchen furniture, and all kinds of farming utensils. And should the sale not be completed of said personal estate on said day, the sale will be continued until the succeeding day. Security will be required of purchasers of real estate.
