TENANTS OF THE MANOR OF LEEDS Fauquier County - 1777 Flinn, Valentine 200 Flinn, John Flynn, valentine !The 1810 Federal Census of the State of Virginia: Flynn, John Sr. Fauquier Co. Flynn, William Fauquier Co. Flynn, Alexander Hampshire Co. Flynn, Daniel Culpeper Co. Flynn, Valentine Culpeper Co. All of these Flynns, except William who was between the age of 26 and 45, and probably the William who married Sarah Flynn in 1796, were over the age of 45. Their wives were also over 45. We have placed Michael's birth at about 1751; he had died in KY 1807; however, he was the oldest and would have been about 60 years old in 1810. Because the other 4 Flynns were over 45, it is most probable that they were the sons of Valentine; therefore, they are being added as same. Their ages are assumed according to the ages of their children: Males Females John, Sr. 16-26 1 16-26 2 26-45 1 45+ 1 45+ 1 William 0-10 2 0-10 1 26-45 1 26-45 1 Alexander 45+ 1 0-10 3 10-26 1 45+ 1 Daniel 0-10 1 16-26 1 10-16 2 45+ 1 16-26 1 45+ 1 Valentine 0-10 1 0-10 2 10-16 2 10-16 2 45+ 1 45+ 1 Since this Valentine has young children, he is probably Valentine, Jr. and Sr. is dead; however, this is assumed. "Other Flinns that immigrated to Virginia such as John Floyne, immigrated 1640, Isaac Fline, immigrated 1675, Thomas Flinn, immigrated 1702, Valentine Fling, immigrated 1708, and, William Fline, immigrated 1715 are accounted for or settled in other parts of Virginia. Valentine Flinn had a son Valentine and the name Valentine is carried on through the Valentine Flinn found in Tennessee in the early 1800's. The Daniel Flinn of Culpepper Virginia is decended from Valentine Flinn. It apppears that Valentine was most probably related to the Thomas that immigrated in 1702 as they are both located in Faquier ounty Virginia in the early tax records. These early Virginia Flinns are clearly related to the Flinns of Maryland's Eastern Shore and most probably came from County Down or Antrim in Ulster as well. The given names are similar with the prevalent Daniel being most common." here is what J.K.
