Note: nformation on this line obtained primarly from James Ball. As to the children of Benj. and Nancy Dodd, the 1810 census gives a male and female, both under 10 (ie. b. abt 1808-1810). The 1820 census lists 8 children, all under the age of 10 - 4 males and 4 females. Nancy had died by 1826 (surmised from deed analysis). I don't know if they had 8 children total by 1820 with two early deaths, or if the first two were so young they were just counted with the others in 1820 (That's my guess). In fact, I would bet not all were their children. As the patricarch of that particular Ball line, Benjamin may have become the defacto guardian. The only male child I am certain of is Benj. Benton. Probably John as well. The known daughters were Elizabeth and Sally. Probably Hannah was as well. Elizabeth's birth year was 1809. That's pretty consistant with the census data. John was likely born about that time though it's difficult to tell from the census. That's why I think they were included with the 8 children of the 1820 census. Benjamin Benton is known to have been born in 1819. Sally and Hannah in 1814-15. That may be the whole list of children. There's no chancery record that I can find (yet). As to that Darnall thing, I know a Darnall researcher who has compiled information for about 40 years. I think her work is on file at the DAR too. No hint of a Ball marriage. Personally, I think Anna was a "Johanna" and maybe a WEAVER or PORTER, or one of the families associated with the ROWLEY family of KGC.
