Note: Sanford, born about 1796, was the son of Thomas and Phoebe (Luncford)Triplett. Sanford Can be found on the Va Census in 1820 ( the census records are a bit strange as his mother and his appear to be the same family in two seperate cities) 1820 -- Loudoun Co, VA, 7 Aug, pg 134: Phebe Triplett (wid/o Thomas) 1 male 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- French Lewis 1 female 45 & up (b:ante 1776) -- Phoebe 2 females 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- Maria, Delila 1 female 10-15 (b:1805-1810) -- Elizabeth 1 female 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- Jane 1820 -- Culpeper Co, VA, 7 Aug, pg 100: Sandford Triplett 1 male 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- 1 female 45 & up (b:ante 1776) -- 1 female 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- 2 females 10-15 (b:1805-1810) -- 1 female 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- He married Mary Ann Flynn Daughter of Daniel Flinn Then he married Matilda Coffman in Hardin County, KY, 23 Sep 1822. Sanford and Matilda had 4 children before he died in 1831, viz. Margaret Elizabeth, Eliza, James M. and Sanford. Sanford's father had died in 1816, and after 1820 his mother and several siblings migrated to Ohio. 1830 -- Muskingum Co, OH, Brush Creek Tw, pg 173: Phoebe Triplett (widow of Thomas) 1 male 20-29 -- French 1 female 50-59 -- Phoebe (head of household) 1 female 15-19 -- Jane The Lds records seem in accurate they indiacte another Sanford L Triplett was also born in loudon in 1797 to Fredrick Triplett and Sarah Jenkins . Thomas' brother. Notice how the two families from the 1820 census below resemble each other. Thomas Triplett, son of Thomas and Elizabeth, died in 1816, leaving a large family of grown and young children. In everything I have seen, there was no other Sanford Triplett this early; he named a son Sanford. My question is: Why were they in Culpeper County? He lived near a William Triplett. Thomas and Elizabeth had a son William for whom I have no information. This bears some work. One day I need to take a little ride. By 1830 the widow Phoebe and some children were in Ohio, along with her brother-in-law's family. Any ideas? 1820 -- Loudoun Co, VA, 7 Aug, pg 134: Phebe Triplett (wid/o Thomas) 1 male 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- French Lewis 1 female 45 & up (b:ante 1776) -- Phoebe 2 females 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- Maria, Delila 1 female 10-15 (b:1805-1810) -- Elizabeth 1 female 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- Jane 1820 -- Culpeper Co, VA, 7 Aug, pg 100: Sandford Triplett 1 male 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- 1 female 45 & up (b:ante 1776) -- 1 female 16-25 (b:1795-1804) -- 2 females 10-15 (b:1805-1810) -- 1 female 0-9 (b:1811-1820) -- 1830 -- Muskingum Co, OH, Brush Creek Tw, pg 173: Phoebe Triplett (widow of Thomas) 1 male 20-29 -- French 1 female 50-59 -- Phoebe (head of household) 1 female 15-19 -- Jane
