Note:   Census 1850 page 84 Clark Co Kentucky Dudley Flynn 27 Martha A Flynn 21 Martha E Flynn 5 Rebecca Flynn 1 Elizabeth Miller 15 all born kentucky cansus indiates wife Martha may be second wife Richard Hansford WARE, a well known and prominent merchant of Hedges, Clark County, Ky., was born in that county, August 13, 1840, of English and Scotch parentage. His father, Samuel Ware, a native of Hanover County, Va., was born about 1808, and was a farmer by occupation. He came to Kentucky in 1812 with his parents, who settled on a farm near Kiddville, but in Montgomery County, where he was reared. In 1838 he removed to Clark County and settled on a farm on what is known as the Waters of Upper Howard's Creek, where he lived for a short time, returning to Montgomery County. In 1868 he removed to Pike County, Ill., where he died in 1870. He married Elizabeth LANDRUM, a native of Clark County, Ky., daughter of Reuben and Patsey (Bibb) LANDRUM, natives of Fluvanna County, Va., Four sons and one daughter were born to their union, the subject of this sketch being the second child. Mrs. Elizabeth Ware died in Clark County in 1847, having been a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for a number of years, as well as a firm supporter of its principles. Robert WARE, grandfather of Richard H., a native of Hanover County, Va. came to Kentucky at an early day and settled in Montgomery County on a farm, where he lived until his death; he took an active part in the war of 1812, and participated in the battles of Tippecanoe, Fort Meigs and the Thames, receiving a wound at the latter place. He was a Democrat in politics but never took an active part in political matters. The maternal grandfather of our subject, Reuben LANDRUM, first settled in Madison County, Ky., where he spent the winter of 1810-11, removing to Clark County, where his death occurred; he was a prominent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Richard H. WARE was educated in the common schools of his native county, and spent his early life on the farm. He now owns 700 acres of principally blue grass land which he keeps well stocked with a good grade of horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, and which is one of the finest farms in Clark county. In 1856 he embarked in the mercantile business at Schoolsville, which he still successfully manages, carrying a stock of general merchandise worth about $3,000, under the firm name of Landrum & Ware. January 17m 1871, he married Rachel M. FLYNN, of Clark County, daughter of Dudley and Martha A. (Wills) FLYNN, of Kentucky. One daughter followed their union, Martha Elizabeth, born September 29, 1873. Politically Mr. Ware is a staunch Democrat. Source: Kentucky: A History of the State, W.H. Perrin et al, 1888. Debby, Thank you for e-mailing me back. You are the first person I have made contact with since I started tracing my roots. Let me explain a little of what I know and it's most of what my grandfather can remember. My line comes from Dudley Flynn 1823-1881 he married Martha Ann Wills, her father was John P. Wills. They had a son. John Franklin Flynn he married Evelyn Rupard. John Franklin Flynn had some Brother and Sisters: Lewis, Ben, Rachel, Rebecca, James S. , Fielding. John Franklin Flynn son was Porter Flynn (died 1953) which was my great grandfather, he married Oaky Bentley from Madison Co. My grand father has several pics. of the family, all the way back to John Franklin Flynn and I think a large pic of the JFF that was married to Evelyn Rupard. The Flynn graveyard is located on Ecton Rd. I know one of the John F. Flynn's is there, but I am not sure which one. Lucinda Flynn wife of John Flynn died July 6 1852. Caleb Flynn b. Oct. 20 1802 d. June 12 1836. Mason Flynn b. Dec. 15, 1825 d. Apr. 5, 1853. Ramsey Flynn
