Note:   !MARRIAGE BOND OF Armstrong Flynn and Sally Hardesty (Copy on file): "Know all men by these presents that we, Armstrong Flin and Thomas Hardesty are held and firmly bound unto Charles Scott Esq., Govenor of Kentucky in the sum of 50 pounds to which payment well and truly to be made to him the said Govenor or his successors, we bind ourselves our heirs ---- and ----. Jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed and dated this 20th day of September, 1809. The condition of the above obligation is such that where as there ia a marriage shortly scheduled to be had and solemnized between the above Armstrong Flynn and Sally Hardesty. If therefore there is no lawfull cause to obstruct the same, the the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. He is shown on records of 1805, 1806, and 1807 as "1 male 16-21" within the household of Michael Flynn, his father and later, Mary, his mother. He turned 21 in 1809, therefore, he is listed as over 21 for the first time on the 1810 records. Summary on file. !TAX RECORD, Clark Co., KY, 1820. Summary on file. !INDENTURE, Clark Co., KY, 28 Apr 1817: Thomas Hardestry and his wife, Elizabeth, to Armstrong Flynn, 14 acres+ on Stoner Creek for $89.60. (Thomas Hardesty the father-in-law of Armstrong Flynn). Copy on file. !INDENTURE, Clark Co., KY, 19 Sep 1835: Armstrong Flynn and Sally Flynn, his wife, to John Flynn (oldest brother) land on Stoner Creek (45 acres+) for $688.00. Copy on file !INDENTURE, Morgan Co., IL, 2 Nov 1835: Nimrod and Rebecca Hankins to Armstrong Flynn 40 acres of land for $215.00. (Part of Morgan Co., IL became Scott County in 1839...this land was later in Scott Co., IL). This indenture shows the removal of Armstrong Flynn from Clark Co., KY to Morgan Co., IL. Copy on file. !Armstrong Flynn only lived about 2 months after settling on his land in Scott Co., IL. His estate records list the following children: William, Polly, Thomas H., Alexander, Elizabeth, Alsey, Silas, Eliza, Susan, Martha, Lucinda, and Sara Flynn. !Sara Flynn appears on the Scott Co., IL Federal Census, 1840. The Scott Co., IL Deed Book C., 1844-1847, p. 431, states that the legal heirs of Armstrong Flynn, dec'd to Silas Flynn, etc.; entered 28 Jan 1846, recorded 18 Jul 1846, shows that Sara Flynn died before 28 Jan 1846, and Silas Flynn was purchasing the inheritance of his brothers and sisters. FLYNN - YOUNG CEMETERY Scott County, Illinois About 3 miles NNW of Winchester, Illinois, there is a small cemetery overgrown with brush and weeds. There are only 4 marked graves within the old wire fence, containing the remains of Silas Flynn, his two sisters and his brother-in-law. In his will, Silas left 1/2 acre of his farm to be used as a family & neighborhood "Grave Yard", but apparently just the following people were buried in it. Lucinda J.'s maiden name was Lucinda Jefferson Flynn.
