Leachman Come now the parties and this cause being at issue is submitted to the court for trial without the intervention of a jury and the court having head the evidence and being duly advised in the premises finds for the plaintiff, Artie C. Leachman, that he is entitled to a divorce from the defendant Mary F. Leachman on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. The court further finds that said plaintiff and said defendant are the parents of the following named children to wit: Charles, age 17 years and Floy, age 15 years. The court finds that the defendant is the proper person to have the care, custody and control of said children until the further order of the court and that the plaintiff should pay to the clerk of this court for the support of said children, the sum of $3.00 per week beginning February 12, 1921. . It is therefore ordered and adjudged by the court that the bonds of matrimony existing between the plaintiff Artie C. Leachman and the defendant Mary F. Leachman be and they are hereby dissolved and the plaintiff is hereby granted a divorce from said defendant on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. Artemus's daughter Gladys Leachman Johnson stated that Artemus left home in June 1914 and went to the Odd Fellows home and then into a hospital for treatment. He left the hospital in 1917-1918 and went to live with Ab Wilson, a half uncle to Mary Francis Hart Leachman, in Clayton, Ind. and helped him on his farm. Artemus lived with Ab until Ab died and Artemus went to the Odd Fellows home in Greensburg, Ind. SOURCE: Greensburg Times Greensburg, Ind Friday June 14, 1946 RITES AT BRAZIL FOR I.O.O.F. GUEST Artie C. Leachman, 77 passed away at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Indiana I.O.O.F. home here. He had been in ill health for some time. Born in Putnam County on October 11, 1868, he was the son of James & Mary Shoptaugh. He came to the home from Brazil on November 19, 1938. His wife was the former M.F. Hart. Artemus was a diabetic and had a leg amputated. Artemus Seymour LEACHMAN was married to Mary Francis HART on 23 APR 1891 in Putnam Co., Ind. He was divorced from Mary Francis HART. Mary Francis HART was born on 7 AUG 1870 in Bainbridge, Ind. She died on 30 DEC 1950 in Muskegon, Mich. She was buried in Mona View Cem., , Muskegon, Mich.
