Note: KATE FREEMAN, daughter of C.C. and ELIZABETH LEACHMAN, was born November 2, l86l, in Decatur County, and departed this life February 4, l92l, at her home in Davis City. On June 25, l877, she was united in marriage with FRANK FREEMAN in Davis City and has resided in this town during the whole of her married life. To this union were born five children, three of whom died in infancy. The two youngest children, MRS. WALTERS of Presho, South Dakota and EDGAR FREEMAN of this place with their father, FRANK FREEMAN, survive. In early life she was converted and united with the Christian Church but in later years she united by letter with the Methodist Church of Davis City. MRS. FREEMAN was a patient sufferer for many years. Since an attack of the influenza about a year ago, she has been confined to her home the most of the time. But she was always cheerful and never lost her interest in the affairs of the town and the church and derived great pleasure from the calls of her neighbors. During the last weeks of her life, she was gladdened by the arrival of her daughter from South Dakota. MRS. FREEMAN was a charter member of Grand Valley Chapter 282, Order of the Eastern Star. Beside her husband and children, she is survived by a host of relatives and friends. MRS. FREEMAN was a loving wife and mother and a kind and loyal friend and neighbor, and will be greatly missed.
