Note: Mrs. William McAlister died Wednesday night of blood poisoning, from which she had suffered for more than a week. She was 45 years of age. Mrs. McAlister's maiden name was Emma Kelly. She was born in Scott County and in 1875 was married to William McAlister, who survives, with three daughters, as follows: Mrs. Archibald Bridgman of Woodson, Mrs. William Spencer, Jr., of this city, and Miss Ada, at home; five sisters, Mrs. B. Fitzsimmons, Mrs. Thomas Harney and Mrs. William Orris of Woodson, Mrs. Richard Dobson and Mrs. Irvin Sorrells, of Murrayville; two brothers, Milton Kelly of this city, and William K. Kelly, of Nortonville. Death was the result of a scratch upon her thumb, afflicted Dec. 19, while engaged in cleansing some garments, which had been used in a sick room. The slight wound became infected and continued worse until death ensued. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. R.F. Thrapp. Interment will be in Diamond Grove cemetery.
