a. Note:   7Margaret born 1852 in Marshview she died at the Cummiskey Homestead in 1920. She married Richard Cummiskey (date Unknown) & she was the mother of Katherine Cummiskey Kinsley. She wasof average stature & on the robust side. The few family pictures available indicate that she dressed very average & maintained rather serious facial expressions. There were always numerous people at the Cummiskey house& we know Margaret liked family gatherings. During their married lives Richard's brothers & sisters lived in Missouri & further west, so there were few family activities on his side. However it appears that Margaret maintained a strong relationship relatives always went back & forth for Sunday dinners, which was a major social activity for the Irish durinh that period. We know nothing of Margaret's education or her activities in Marshview prior to her marraige at age 27. The U.S. census in 1860 when she was 8 says she was attending school & neither parent could read or write. Also, her father is shown as a "day laborer" whereas her uncle was the farmer & the landowner & some unmarried sisters lived with him.
