Notes
a. Note:   Child Killed At Grafton Johnnie Elliott, son of Mr. & Mrs. James O. Elliott, was killed one mile north of Grafton at eleven o'clock Sunday morning in a runaway. The child's neck was broken and death came instantly. The little one had spent the previous night with its grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. James Allman, west of town, and they were taking it home when the accident occured. The horse became frightened at a motorcycle ridden by William Stanard, upsetting the buggy and all occupants were thrown violently to the ground with the above results. Mr. & Mrs. Allman were also much bruised about the face and limbs, but not seriously. J. H. Merton brought the unfortunate people to town. The body of the child was taken to Dr. Sweeney's office and the parents notified of the accident. Funeral services occured from the home of Mr. & Mrs. Allman Monday at two o'clock conducted by Rev. Father Healy. Interment was made in Grafton Cemetery. Johnnie Elliott was born September 10, 1910 and was age two years, two months and five days. He was an unusually bright little fellow and his untimely death caused a great sorrow to the community and a grief almost unbearable to his parents and grandparents.
