Note: Josie was Grandmother Taggart's (Mary Finis King) older sister. ___________________ Josephine Nancy Taggart Josephine Nancy King was born December 26, 1874, near Warrensburg, Missouri, second daughter of James Henry and Mary Elizabeth King, and passed away at her home near Boise City (Oklahoma) January 2, 1942, at the age of 67 years and seven days. She had been in ill health for several years, but her passing was quiet and peaceful as her life had been. She was united in marriage with Charles J. Taggart April 10, 1910, at her parent's home near Magnolia, Missouri, after which she moved to Cimarron county where she resided until her death. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her. While a young girl she united with the Presbyterian church at her home in Missouri, and after moving to Oklahoma united with the Methodist church at Union Chapel. She was a faithful member, always interested in the activities of the church and community. She was a devoted wife and mother, always concerned with the welfare of her family and home. Earthly ties have been broken, but the precious memories of her beautiful life of service, sympathy, love and kindness will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Martel Rogers, Manhattan, Kansas; Mrs. Ruth Judd, Amarillo, Texas; and Mrs. Lewis Alexander, Boise City; four sisters, Mrs. Hayes Lewis, Missoula, Montana; Mrs. A. A. Muller, also of Missoula, Miss Irene King, Glendale, California; and Mrs. W. C. Taggart, Boise City. One sister, Mrs. W. A. Meek, Holden, Missouri, preceded here in death several years ago. Five grandchildren also survive, and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Union Chapel Monday afternoon and burial was in the Keyes cemetery, Rev. Raymond Brown conducted the services. W. E. Gabriel of Keyes was in charge of arrangements.
