Note: NI203 Robert Theodore Elliott, son of John D. Elliott and Rebecca Jaquish Elliott, was born April 3, 1870 at Center, Ralls County, Missouri and passed away at his home near Griggs, Oklahoma, Saturday May 29, 1948 at 11 p.m. at the age of 78 years, one month and 26 days. He lived in Ralls County, Missouri until he was 18 years of age. In 1897 he moved to Polk County, Arkansas, where he met and married Rebecca Alice Arnold on November 15, 1899. To this union were born 12 children, two of whom preceded him in death: a baby girl who died in infancy and one son, Frank K. at the age of 8 years. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Alice Elliott, five sons, John, Oscar, Earl, and Bearl, all of Griggs, and Arnold of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Sisk of Hobart, Oklahoma, Mrs. Mary Sisk of Kansas, Oklahoma, Mrs. Maxine Taggart of Duncan, Oklahoma, Mrs. Minnie Cayton of Griggs, Oklahoma and Mrs. Ruth Ferguson of Lincoln, Arkansas, all of whom are present; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His parents and brothers and sisters all preceded him in death except one brother, Matthew Elliott of Chickasha, Oklahoma who is present today. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. He came to Texhoma in 1906 and lived on the homestead of J.R.P. Sewell northeast of Texhoma until February 1907 when he went to San Angelo, Texas, where he spent three years. He moved back to Texhoma in the fall of 1910 and remained until May 1911 when he moved to the farm home northwest of town where he resided 37 years until his passing. He was always a loving father and husband, worked hard to supply for a large family and was loved and respected by all his relatives, neighbors and friends, who were many.
