Note: (Research):Mary�s maiden name was Orme. Her father was James Orme and mother was Nancy B. She and George Blakemore had children who lived with Mary and Jesse after they married. In the 1900 census they were Lizzie, 19; Daisy, 18 and George, 11. James Mitchell was 5 and Effie was 1. There was also an Ed Blakemore who was killed when a tornado hit John Mitchell�s barn in 1898 when he was 15. I took a picture of Mary and Effie�s headstones in Gill cemetery. I�ve attached them for you. There was no sign of Jesse being buried there. I looked on the caretaker�s list as well as walked through the old section. There was a Jesse Mitchell but it was John and Elmira�s son, buried next to them. I think old Jesse may be buried wherever Martha is buried � maybe in another cemetery or at their homestead. At Little Rock there is a Baptist Church book (Clear Creek Church, I think) that mention�s Jesse�s death in 1913. I didn�t think to look back in it for Martha�s name. (Fort Smith Register of Deaths) This is a big ledger not suitable for photocopying and I extracted the information. She was 77 years , 2 months, 17 days of age when she died. Female. White. Widowed. Born at Pine Springs, AR. Last residence was Rural Route D # 3, Van Buren, Crawford, County( this is just across the river from Fort Smith) Died at 3009 No. 6th.. Father:James Orms. Mother: Nancy Compton Services by Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Died of Influenza/Pneumonia. Burial in Van Buren. Informant: Mrs. A.W. Stafford.
