He departed this life August 23 (1966) in Cimarron Memorial Hospital, Boise City, at the age of 87 years, seven months and two days. He was married to Miss Mary Finis King on October 20, 1903. Five children were born to this union. As a young man he united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church and was an elder in this church until moving to the Panhandle of Oklahoma in 1906. Here he united with the Union Chapel Methodist Church located in the Sampsel community of Cimarron county. He was a charter member of this church. Mr. Taggart served here until it dissolved in 1953, at which time he became a member of the Marella Methodist Church, where he attended services and served until his health failed. Engaged in farming, Mr. Taggart enjoyed working diligently at all phases of this business until sustaining an accident which injured his eyesight and which eventually resulted in total blindness. His unfailing courage and patience will ever be an inspiration to those who knew him, and his greatest joy was visiting with friends and loved ones. He is survived by his companion, Mary Finis; two daughters, Lois Alexander of Long Beach, California and Mildred Cox of Boise City; three sons, Robert of Baldwin Park, California, William of Stillwater, Oklahoma and James of the home. In addition he is survived by 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister May Alexander of Boise City, and two brothers, Charles of Satanta, Kansas and John of Strasburg, Colorodo. _________ Boise City News Boise City, Oklahoma
