Notes
a. Note:   Mary Finis Taggart, the youngest and last surviving of six daughters of James Henry and Mary Elizabeth King, was born near Warrensburg, Missouri, December 23, 1883. She passed away in Guymon Memorial Hospital, August 21, 1967, at the age of 83 years, seven months and 28 days. When she was a young girl the King family moved to a farm near Magnolia, Missouri, where she met and later married William Calvin Taggart on October 20, 1903. Mr. Taggart preceded her in death on August 23, 1966. In 1906 she and her husband moved to Cimarron County, Oklahoma and settled on a homestead in what was then known as the Sampsel community. They proved up on this claim and returned to Missouri in 1911, remaining there until 1920 when they returned to Cimarron County. Following the death of her husband she entered the Dunaway Manor, Guymon, in January 1967 and lived there until her final illness of two weeks duration. In early life she professed her faith in Christ and became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the faith of her family. Upon moving to Oklahoma, there being no church of this faith here, she and her husband united with the Methodist Church and at the time of her death she was a member of the Marella Methodist Church. She loved her church and as long as physical health permitted gave freely of her time and service to it. She also was deeply devoted to her family and home and was, in the truest sense, a Christian mother. She leaves to mourn her passing three sons: Robert of Baldwin Park, California, William of Stillwater, Oklahoma and James of Boise City; two daughters: Lois Alexander of Long Beach, California and Mildred Cox of Boise City; 13 granchildren, one great grandson and many other relatives and friends. _________ Boise City News Boise City, Oklahoma
