Taggart Donna says her mother Eunice Clement Nichols spoke highly of her grandmother, Julia and remembers her as a petite woman with red hair who always wore pretty dresses with lace collars and kept a nice house. According to Eunice, Julia lived her last months before her death with her son Charlie in Hiwassee, Arkansas. She probably died at 86 and is buried next to Samuel in Bentonville. TAGGART - Mrs. Julia Dunnaway, aged 86 years, died at the home of her son, Charles Dunnaway, living north of Hiwasse, Saturday after an illness of several years. She formerly lived near Bella Vista and later in the city limits of Bentonville. Mrs. Dunnaway had made her home with her son, Charles, for about five years. Mrs. Dunnaway had quite an eventful life and at one time, about 30 years ago, carried the mail on horse back every day from Bentonville to the old post office at Rago, located on Wilson Brown's farm north of Bentonville. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, Bentonville Sunday afternoon with Rev. Carrie Shoup officiating. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. Mrs. Dunnaway is survived by several children, including her son, Charles, and a daughter, Mrs. Burton Clement, who lives near Bentonville. Benton County Record & Democrat & Sun 2/13/30 Mrs. Julia Dunnaway, 86 years of age, died at the home of her son, C. W. Dunnaway, four miles north of Hiwasse, Saturday afternoon. She had been in ill health for several years. She was the wife of a Confederate soldier in the Civil War. Five sons and one daughter survive. Funeral services were held at the Bentonville M. E. Church Sunday and burial was in the city cemetery. Julia E. Taggart was born January 22, 1844 and was married to Samuel Dunnaway in September 1864 and to this union seven children were born, five of whom are still living. Her husband died in March 1909. Mrs. Dunnaway was a devoted Christian, having joined the M. E. Church when sixteen years of age. She is survived by Mrs. Bert Clements of Bentonville, C. W. Dunnaway of Hiwasse, Eugene Dunnaway of Lawton, Kansas, George Dunnaway of Newtonia, Missouri and H. W. Dunnaway of Dallas, Texas.
