Note:   from Akron News: HARTING OBITUARY CORRECTION "In last week's obituary for Gwendolyn Harting, 69, North Mancheser, who died Oct 16, 1980, the NEWS incorrectly stated that she was a graduate of Rochester High School. Mrs. Harting was a 1929 graduate of Akron High School. She is survived by her husband, C. Byron Harting; 3 sons: Hal Harting of Tippecanoe Lake, Kent Harting and Von Harting both of North Manchester; and 2 sisters Mrs. John (Virginia) York and Mrs. Howard (Helen) Utter both of Akron. 10-16-1980 GWENDOLYN HARTING No. Manchester --- Gwendolyn Harting, 69, died today in Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, In. Surviving are her husband, C. Byron Harting; 3 sons and 2 sisters. Rites 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Bender Funeral Home where calling begins 1 p.m. Friday. Burial in Oswego Cemetery, Oswego. Memorials to the Wabash County Cancer Fund. Gwen had been in ill health for about 2 years and in hospital for a month prior to her death. She suffered considerably in those last days and weeks. She was deeply loved and respected by her family, neighbors and friends. The Church had great meaning for her. She was buried at the Oswego cemetery on Lake Tippy -- on a hill directly across the lake -- overlooking the summer cottage where many happy days had been spent. 1920 census: 120 W.
