Note: OBITUARY [Troy Daily News 07/24/1931]: FORMER PIQUAD DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER CORY E WATKINS, 57, DIES AT RESIDENCE OF MRS WILLIAM SIGELMOYER TODAY Cory E Watkins, 57, until recently of Piqua, died Monday shortly before noon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs William Spigelmoyer, 323 Lincoln avenue. He had been in failing health for the last year and confined to his bed during the last eight weeks. Cory Emerson Watkins was a lifelong resident of Miami county, having been born near Piqua. For the last several years he had been employed as salesman by the Fuller Brush company. He and his wife came to the Spigelmoyer home to reside about six months ago. He was a member of the Charity Chapel Christian church. Besides his widow and daughter, Mrs Spigelmoyer, he leaves the following children; Clyde Watkins, of South Clay street, this city; Mrs Robert Neese, Christiansburg; Mrs Laommi Mott, near St Paris, and brothers and sister, Rev E A Watkins, Plainfiels, Ind; E H Watkins of Rosewood, M D Chapman, Conover, and Mrs Rosa Bochel, near Conover. Funeral services will be conducted at the Fletcher Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Fletcher cemetery.
