Note: OBITUARY [Piqua Daily Call 07/18/1968]: MARVIN G FRANCIS MIAMI COUNTY FARMER Fletcher - Marvin G Francis, 67, of 3565 Casstown Sidney Road, Troy, Miami County Farmer, died at 9:15 am today in Stouder Hospital in Troy. He had been ill two years and hospitalized numerous times. Born, November 6, 1900 in Miami County, he was the son of Ellsworth and Bertha Huffman {*} Francis. His marriage to the former Addie Marie Ford {*} took place Feb 26.1925. He was a member of the Lost Creek United Church of Christ and the Miami County Farm Bureau. Surviving with his wife, Bertha are four sons, Maynard E, Galen G and Lester E, all of Troy and Marvin J of Casstown; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Marion H of Houston and William of Troy and three sisters, Mrs Maude Iddings of Alcony, Mrs Frank Johnston (S.ylvia) of Troy and Mrs Myron Mills (Harriett) of Piqua. Two sisters and a brother are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday in the Suber Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Casstown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Saturday and in lieu of flowers friends may make memorial contributions to the Miami County Cancer Fund. *mother and wife names reversed OBITUARY [Troy Daily News 07/19/1968]: MARVIN G FRANCIS Marvin G Francis, 67, of 3565 Casstown-Sidney Road, Troy, died Thursday morning in Stouder Memorial Hospital after an illness of two years. Born in Miami County Nov 6, 1900, he was a son of Ellsworth and Bertha Huffman Francis. Surviving are his wife, Addie Marie; four sons, Maynard E of Troy, Galen G of Troy, Marvin J of Casstown and Lester E of Troy; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Marion H of Houston and William of Troy, and three sisters, Mrs Maude Iddings of Alcony, Mrs Frank (Sylvia) Johnson of Troy, and Mrs Myron (Harriett) Mills of Piqua. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He was a member of the Miami County Farm Bureau and attended the Lost Creek United Church of Christ. Services will be held Sunday 2 pm at the Suber Funeral Home in Fletcher. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Saturday and until time of service Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Cancer Fund.
