a. Note:   ary his wife and 5 children at the time. On page 619 of the William's City Directory for Covington and Newport, the section for Ludlow lists John H. Pillen as a molder resding at 140 Linden Street with his daughters: Loretta, Rosa G. (occupation-clerk), and Teresa V. (occupatin-clerk). During the decade there was a store run by the Pillen's at the north east corner of Oak and Adela, and the 1920 directory of page 532 indicates John and his children running the operation for they all resided at 138 Linden: Henry A. (salesman), Marie M. (clerk), and Pauline V. (clerk). The homestead at 138 Linden would be renumbered to 520, right next door to the Nicholas J. Allgeyer family at 522, and became home to Teresa and Frank Kloenne.
