Note: ted at time of death, however he is listed as a widower in the Gamshurst death register (LDS microfilm #0958348). Approximate birth year 1628; the actual date may not be correct but was calculated based on the inforamtion supplied in the notation of death below. This man is an ancestor 3 times with the designations of 1070, 1104, 2104: Johannes Braun (b.1628?) ---------------------------------------|------------------- John Jr. Catharina (b. 1653?) (b.1662) #552, #1052 # 535 | Laurence (b.1691) #276, #526 ___________|____________ Arborgast Elizabeth (b.1720) (b.1717) #138 # 263 John Braun is #1070 because his daughter Catharina married Nichaols Schuh (#534) in 1682. John Braun is #1104 because his grandson Laurence married Catharina Strassburger (#277). John Braun is #2104 because his great granddaugher Elisabeth married Joseph Lorenz (#262). The OFB Gamshurst notes a Johannes Braun in family #348 and family #354. These appear to be the same person for the date of death is exactly the same and borth have a inscription noting that he was a "Richter" (Lawyer) and citizen (Family #348); and a Gerichts-Zwölfer in family #354. So it appears after the death of Gertrude Friedmann, Johannes remarried a Christina (unknown maiden name) in approximately 1677, but because the Church at Gamshurst was damaged at this timeframe due to the armed conflict, no records appear for this parish between 1675-1681. Therefore the only child from this second marriage was Ursula; who was erroneously placed in John Braun Jr.'s family with the original research of his family in error. At the time of his death there is an inscription in family #354 that states the date of death and this: ""Gerichts-Zwölfer des löbl. Gerichts zu Achern, bei + 61 J 7 M 10Talt, Witwe" If the date is calculated backward then, his date of birth would be: Johannes was a widower at his death.
