a. Note:   es at the baptism of Phillip: Thomas Strassburger and Elizabeth Schmelze, wife of Michael Friedmann, carpenter. Phillip married young at the age of 18 and took Catharina Lorenz as his wife and had 11 children from 1758 through 1782. When Catharina passed away in 1798, Phillip remarried 4 years later in 1803 to Rufina Allgeier and he started another family with her. Together they had four children together. Tragically in 1814 both parents passed away: first Philip in April of 1814, then his second wife Rufina Allgeier in May of 1814; leaving the three remaining children of 10, 6 and 1 in the care of other family members. When Phillip passed away in 1814, he was noted as being a farmer and citizen in Gamshurst. Phillip had a total of 15 children with his two wives.
