a. Note:   rriage in 1802 occured when Nicholas was 24; but his first wife Sabina Bechtel passed away after the birth of their second child in February 1805. Six months later in 1805 he married Anastasia Volz, had 8 children. He emigrated to the USA in 1833 with his wife and 5 children and 2 illeg. grandchildren where he lived the rest of his years.
