a. Note:   e fear of death, when he was born. But the Church baptism was witnessed by John Bechtel and Francisca Himpele, wife of Nicholas Braun, weaver deceased. Leonard represents the fourth generatin of the Allgeier family in Gamshurst. Leonhard was the second oldest of nine children born of Matthew Allgeier and Catharina Schmalz. Like the previous generations before him, Leonhard was a farmer by profession. Leonhard at the age of about 26 married Maria Anna Renner around 1780, but the wedding year is an approximation as the Gamshurst Ehebuch is missing for the years 1770-1786. They had a total of nine children, but only 5 of them lived into adulthood. Leonhard died at the early age of 53 and never had the opportunity to see any of his grandchildren.
