Notes
a. Note:   rer and a member of the Harter family. Johannes Adam was a farmer and citizen in Gamshurst. At the age of 24, Johann Adam married his first wife Maria Magdalena Meyer of Gamshurst. This couple had 5 children, 4 boys and an unidentified stillborn child in 1753. His first wife passed away in 1763. He passed away in 1781 as a Farmer (Bauer) and Citizen of Litzloch. Again, the original Church register noted the spelling of the surname as Allgeÿer, but in order to keep the integrity of the database intact, the spelling will be rendered as Allgeier to stay consistant with the modern day spelling as well as the OFB. An interesting development was noted in the Gamshurst OFB in which is lists this Johann Adam Allgeier as the son of a "Johannes Allgeier" who was a settler (Siedler)with no further ancestry noted. The registery of death notes that Johann Adam died at the age of 74 in 1781, which IF this is actually correct, would make his birth year around 1707. These word of mouth entries are not very reliable, and it can be assumed that the author of this book may have place too much weight on this fact. There are no birth or baptism notations for Adam in 1707, but rather a notation does in fact appear in the Church registers (Taufbuch) of Gamshurst in 1713, a son of Johannes...family #17 on page 22. To further complicate matters the author of the OFB lists a George born on the same day as Adam, which is an obvious error in interpretation. When Johann Adam married in 1738, the Trauunsregister notes clearly that Johann Adam is the son of Johann Allgeier citizen in Gamshurst and farmer (coloni) in Obermichelbuch. There is only one Johannes Allgeier in Gamshurst at this time and in addition, there is only one Johann Adam of this age in Gamshurst too. Therefore the original research performed in the early 1990's with these old parish books, which were filmed by the Morman Church will still stand as the correct succession of the family, and the inforamtion contained in the Ortsfamilienbuch Gamshurst will stand in error. To recap the two errors in the OFB: 1.)The fact that Johannes Adam Allgeier was not noted as a son of THE Johannes Allgeier from family #17 and son of a settler or from a "ficticious" Johannes Allgeier (a settler) is a major mistake. This Johann Allgeier is the common ancestor of many descendants in the major of 2 lines of Allgeier descendants in Gamshurst. This family is a direct ancestor of both Willi and Bernhard Allgeier. 2.)The name of "George" was noted as the oldest son of Johannes Allgeier with Adam's date of birth of 22 December 1713 in the OFB family #17. Therefore the red correction notes will be placed in the book to indicate these errors.
Note:   !Oldest son of Johannes Allgeier and Christina Scherer. Baptism witnessed by George Dichelbo
