a. Note:   ther of Johann Volz (R. #120), or another perhaps distantly related family residing in Litzloch. However there seems to be general agreement with the other Gamshurst researchers, that this in fact may be the correct ancestor. The wedding to Dorothea Schlecht of Oberkirch indicates that John was a widow when he married her in 1687. This means that the John Volz appearing in the earlier records in Gamshurst with Christina N. is definately the same man who remarried in 1687. In various correspondances with Bernhard Allgeier in Dornstetten, Baden-Wurttemberg, we are in agreement that it is a possibliltiy that the John Volz who married Barbara Wimmer is the son the of John Volz and Christina N., who was probably born prior to 1654 or somewhere around that timeframe, and the John Volz whose spouse was Christina N, was probably born about 1625.
